Solar Water Heaters

Why not use the power of the sun to heat the water for your home or business? Solar water heaters can be used in any climate, and unlike their conventional counterparts, they don’t pollute the air with tons (literally) of carbon dioxide. The average electric water heater emits about 8 tons of CO2 annually, and natural gas or oil-fired water heaters emit about 2 tons of CO2 annually.

Even though solar water heaters are more expensive up front, the electricity savings provide a payback period of only 4-8 years, and they typically have a long life of 15-40 years. Plus, for systems placed in service through December 31, 2008, federal tax credits for 30% of the cost (up to $2000) are available.

Yep you are right. Solar water heater is such a simple technology and so efficient but still seems that people don’t get it. I was skeptic too at the beginning because of the initial payment, but today, with all the great incentives as the one that the city of san diego is providing, there really is no more reason not to go solar! I got my system last year and I already saved a lot of money on my utility bills and I’m glad to help california not to be too dependent on natural gas. For how is interested in the san diego area I would recommend this comapny eco and eco san diego solar, they work good and they have good prices.
