The American Society of Landscape Architects has released recommendations to encourage Congress to take action regarding global warming. The Safe Climate Act and America’s Climate Security Act can, if passed, “save billions of dollars on infrastructure, create vibrant and healthy neighborhoods, preserve our natural resources, and reduce global warming.”
Recommendations include:
- sustainable site planning and land use
- native vegetation
- sustainable stormwater management
- green roofs
- smart growth communities near public transportation
