Today through Sunday March 16th, the Central Minnesota Builders Association Home Show will be featuring green-related exhibits, seminars and fun performances. The annual event draws between 5,000 – 8,000 visitors who enjoy learning about the latest construction techniques, remodeling, buying, selling and financing.
This year’s show will highlight the benefits of green building, energy efficiency, water conservation, recycling and reuse of materials.
The event also includes a weekend tour of area homes, some built to Minnesota’s GreenStar Home program standards. This third-party certifier of green-built homes emphasizes building products and practices for energy efficiency, material efficiency, water conservation, occupant health, and site/community impacts.
The event takes place at the St. Cloud Civic center. Admission is only $5 bucks and kids under 12 are free. There’s even a special seminar just for the little ones!
Visit the CMBA website for more details, including an interactive map of homes on the tour.
