Looking for something fun and enlightening to do next weekend? Check out the Chicago Green Festival at Navy Pier. Last year’s event drew over 31,000 visitors!
‘The green festival showcases more than 350 diverse local and national green businesses displaying and selling eco-friendly, fair trade and sustainable products. You’ll also enjoy great how-to workshops, green films, a fair trade pavilion, yoga and movement classes, kids’ zone, delicious organic beer, wine and cuisine, and live music.’
‘Better World Books and Green Festival are partnering to offer $5 off Green Festival admission to attendees who bring in 3 or more books. Your donated books will be sold on BetterWorld.com to help fund girls’ scholarships in developing countries in Asia.’
Price of admission is $15 which includes entry to all activities for one day or the entire weekend, along with a free year’s membership in Co-Op America, 10% off purchases at the Global Exchange Store, and more. Discounts are available to students and seniors. Kids under 12, Co-Op America members, and Global Exchange members are free!
Hours are 10am to 8pm on Saturday, May 17, and 11am to 6pm on Sunday, May 18.
