If cold weather and short days are getting you down, think ahead to next Spring when you’ll have a chance to win the 2nd HGTV Green Home in sunny Port St. Lucie, Florida. Back by popular demand, another HGTV Green Home is under construction in a green-minded, mixed-use community and will adhere to sustainable building standards in order to obtain LEED certification. LEED, or Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, is a voluntary rating system established by the U.S. Green Building Council.

This green home has been designed in a Spanish contemporary style, and like its predecessor, will feature many energy-, water-, and resource-efficient elements.

‘Viewers can enter to win the home and grand prize package during the HGTV Green Home Giveaway 2009SM, from April 17-June 5, 2009. Fans can get a virtual tour of the home on HGTV.com beginning in April, followed by a televised tour during the HGTV Green Home 2009 special on Sunday, April 19, 2009 at 8:00 p.m.’
