Want to view both the sunrise and sunset from your new highrise? Well, it’s a sight that’s hard to believe as it looks like something out of a sci-fi movie — an 80-story skyscraper, dubbed the Dynamic Tower, where each floor rotates independently creating a unique revolving structure. In fact, each floor can rotate at different speeds which will result in an ever-evolving shape. And that is just the beginning of its design innovation…
It will actually be prefab — made in a factory and assembled on site to save construction time, cut costs, and enhance quality control. Structural insulating panels (SIPs) and energy-efficient insulated glass will add to the building’s environmental attributes. Natural and recyclable materials will be used throughout as well. It will also be the first building to be self-powered with wind turbines horizontally mounted between each rotating floor. Not only will it generate its own electricity, but it will power other nearby buildings too. To generate additional power, solar photovoltaic cells will be incorporated atop each rotating floor, as 20% of each rooftop will be exposed to the sun.
Residences at the Dynamic Tower range from 1,334 sq ft apartments to 12,916 sq ft luxury villas. The architect has even addressed parking concerns with a special elevator designed to transport cars up to each floor where they can be parked near each home’s entrance for the ultimate convenience.
The first building in motion, designed by visionary architect Dr. David Fisher, will be located in Dubai, a 2nd similar tower is planned for Moscow, and a 3rd may be slated for New York City.
