Weekend Event: San Fransisco Green Festival

Get out and experience the 7th annual Green Festival in the Bay Area this weekend. Enjoy live music; organic cuisine, beer & wine; films; workshops; and kids’ activities. A new Green Teen Pavilion will give teenagers a chance to partake in solar car racing and personalized cosmetic creation. See the latest developments in renewable energy and green technology, learn how to green your home, and shop for green holiday gifts. Over 350 eco-friendly businesses and 125 renowned experts will be on hand to promote the greening of America.

The event is a joint project of Co-Op America and Global Exchange, two non-profit organizations dedicated to promoting social, economic and environmental justice around the world.

Global Exchange’s Cofounder, Kevin Danaher states, “Now that the environment is intricately tied into the discourse surrounding the economy, Green Festival is striving to meet the needs of families, individuals, and business by providing solutions that are not only environmentally conservative but also fiscally innovative.”

A $25 entrance fee will admit you to all of the activities taking place over the entire weekend, a $15 ticket is good for one full day . Discounts are available for seniors, students, bike riders, public transit riders, and Union members. Co-op America and Global Exchange Members, Green Festival volunteers and youth under 18 are FREE.

The Green Festival takes place at the San Francisco Concourse Exhibition Center and the Giftcenter Pavilion Theater from November 14-16. Friday: 12pm-7pm; Saturday: 10am-7pm; Sunday: 11am-6pm.
