Light up Your Holidays with Efficient LEDs

LEDs, or light emitting diodes, come in a wide assortment of styles, sizes and colors to light up the Christmas tree and your home, inside and out. From stringers to icicles, this energy-efficient option will make decorating for the holidays easy and fun.

LED lights use only 10 percent of the power that traditional ones do, so they won’t add much to your electricity bill — an added bonus during the holidays. Plus, these virtually indestructible lights last about 10 years longer than traditional lights, and if one bulb goes out, it doesn’t affect the whole strand! They’re safe too, with no chance of combustion since the bulbs are cool to the touch, regardless of how long they’re left on.

You can find LED holiday lighting in some big box retail stores and online.  I found one online retailer, called Holiday LEDs, that offers free recycling of your old incandescent holiday lighting.  They offer a 15% discount when you partake in this great program.
