Beautiful Backsplashes

Looking to spruce up your kitchen or bath?  One high-impact, do-it-yourself project is to install glass tiles to your backsplash.  These unique tiles will add sparkle and color to any room.  Of course, you are only limited by your imagination, as these tiles are perfect for indoors and out.  They’ll add instant character to fireplace surrounds, pools, spas, and water features.  Several companies now offer gorgeous glass tiles hand-made (in the USA) from recycled glass.  Prices range from $2 to $35 per tile, but even a little goes a long way.

  • Aurora Glass:  This Portland, Oregon company transforms old windows and other waste glass into accent tiles (and other household accent pieces) available in six colors (amethyst, apricot, cobalt, classic clear, emerald, and aqua blue).  The company, owned and operated by a non-profit charitable organization, returns all profits to charitable endeavors.
  • Bedrock Industries:  This Seattle, Washington company makes numerous (and stunning!) colors, shapes, designs, and finishes for their line of glass tiles.
  • Oceanside Glass Tiles:  This Carlsbad, California company creates semi-transparent pieces of art in several different collections, from mosaics to trim pieces and everything inbetween.
  • Sandhill Industries:  Originally founded in Alaska, this company has sinced moved to Boise, Idaho and offers a wide array of sizes, styles, colors, and finishes for its luxury line of tile.
