California Passes Select Green Bills

Well, you win some and you lose some. Recently, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed some environmental bills, but unfortunately rejected others, pertaining to green building, that could really have an impact.

One that passed was: to ban the use of chemical plasticizers in kid’s products (believe it or not, this one was rejected by the California Chamber of Commerce, and not surprisingly by the chemical industry). Others passed were: to increase energy efficiency of indoor lighting, and to keep track of all toxic chemical releases of more than 500 pounds a year (geez, aren’t they already doing that?!).

Greener Buildings has the details.
