tamarack homeThis year’s Parade of Homes in Felida, Washington features 5 luxurious green built homes, a charitable playhouse and doghouse auction, and a Green Living Educational Center where consumers can learn about the advantages of building green.

The event takes place from August 22nd – September 7th and includes Color & Design Tours, Seniors Day and Builder/REALTOR Day. The featured homes have plenty of high performance green attributes and some are even certified by the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) program. The homes incorporate energy and water conserving strategies, non-toxic finishes, FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified woods, drought-tolerant landscaping, and lots of natural daylighting.

The event is coordinated by the Building Industry Association (BIA) of Clark County. “The BIA is designed to serve the interests of the local building industry, to advocate for affordable housing opportunities in the community, promote reasonable public policy and insure good government processes related to the construction and development industry. They facilitate business-to-business networking and perform public outreach related to the building industry.”
