bintu-wbucket.jpgBlue Planet Run Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to supporting clean water projects worldwide, has a new campaign that encourages yard sales (re-use) to raise money to donate to the organization.

Participants are asked to separate money collected from the sale of blue-colored items and donate it to a safe drinking water project. Every $30 provides safe drinking water to one person for life!

The fact is that 1.1 billion people worldwide lack access to safe drinking water. We just take for granted a basic right to clean drinking water when we turn on the faucet. But countless women and children walk on average 4 miles just to fetch a jug of water that is not guaranteed to be safe to drink.

To get involved, gather your clutter, organize a neighborhood yard sale and create a blue box to collect any money earned from selling items that are… you got it, BLUE. Voila – instant hero material! Label the box to let people know they are helping you save lives!

Blue Planet Run would like you to take photos, tell them your story, and they will make you a hero on their website! Send to Sabrina@blueplanetrun.org. Your donation is tax deductible and should be mailed to: Blue Planet Run Foundation. 500 Sansome Street, Suite 205, San Francisco, CA.

The non-profit’s book, Blue Planet Run, was recently awarded, “Most Likely to Save the Planet” by The Independent Publishers.
