Eco-friendly Community Provides Neighborly Atmosphere

Chattahoochee Hill Country, outside of Atlanta, Georgia, is home to a community of homes and businesses focused on sustainability.  The Serenbe Community sits on 900 acres of forests, farmland and meadows and is surrounded by 40,000 acres of protected, undeveloped land. For those looking for a friendly, small town atmosphere where environmental awareness is prevalent, Serenbe offers it all.

Country roads, footpaths, horseback riding trails, private gardens and public farms abound in and around the quaint village to allow residents to enjoy nature on a daily basis.  All homes are built to meet the standards of the EarthCraft House Program.  These standards include energy efficiency, low maintenance, improved air quality, water conservation, and resource-efficient building materials and systems.  Outdoors, the landscaping integrates native plants, a water reclamation system is used for irrigation, and an eco-friendly stormwater management system is in place.

Gourmet restaurants create fresh and flavorful meals fom the organic fruits and vegetables grown on-site.  An art gallery and ampitheater provide entertainment to residents as well.  Visitors can enjoy a stay at the Serenbe Inn and support the local shops and businesses.

Despite a slow real estate market across the nation, Serenbe’s community of building sites, homes, live/work spaces, and commercial buildings is still growing.

That sounds like an ideal place to relocate to in our golden years. I would love to have all of our children and grandchildren there together to share in the “sustainable” atmosphere to appreciate places like this town; places that have retained their good qualities to ensure our great country to continue to endure for future generations.
