Festival of Green Building in Santa Fe

oshara-village-santa-fe.jpgThe quaint town of Santa Fe, New Mexico is home to a sustainable mixed-use community called Oshara Village. It’s home to the 2nd annual Festival of Green Building and will be free and open to the public. A tour of green-built homes will be featured, along with displays of solar equipment, alternative building materials, and energy efficient cars and appliances.

Visitors will enjoy the live music, refreshments, and informative conversations with exhibitors and non-profit groups. Attendees can learn about the financial savings from increased energy efficiency, water conservation, and reducing one’s carbon footprint.

Oshara Village is currently still in development and consists of single family homes, townhomes, estate homes, affordable housing, live/work units, shops and restaurants. light industrial, and office space. It’s conveniently located next to the community college. The village atmosphere allows residents to obtain everything from education and entertainment to professional opportunities and residential living in a smartly-planned community.

The festival will take place from 11:00 to 5:00 on Saturday and Sunday August 16th and 17th, 2008.
