If you’re looking for unique and eco-friendly light fixtures, you’ll be happy to learn that there is a wide variety of styles available.  A few innovative companies are integrating recycled metals and glass, as well as sustainable woods, into stunning new designs, many of which accept energy-efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs.

Eleek uses recycled aluminum, bronze, and steel in its marvelous creations.  Its Japanese-inspired Teahouse Chandelier is pictured here; its Glogo Pendant is pictured above.  This Portland, Oregon company offers pendants, chandeliers, sconces, vanity lighting, ceiling & flush mounts, floor & table lamps, and outdoor lighting.

Fire & Water Lighting, Furniture & Product Design creates fun fixtures from recycled glass, plastics, paper, metal, wood, and even bicycle wheels (as in the cycLED lamp shown here).  Custom designs and installations for residential and commercial applications are available as well.

MetaForm Studio, of New York, handcrafts lits one-of-a-kind light fixtures from FSC-certified woods and uses low-VOC finishes and adhesives.  The company even ships its creations in recycled and recyclable cardboard boxes.
