phillys-zero-energy-townhomes.jpgThis new 38-home community is developed on an infill lot in Northeast Philadelphia bordering Fairmont Park. Four homes are completed to date, featuring “passive solar design, a high performance modular envelope, ENERGY STAR windows, water saving fixtures, low-emitting finishes, a 4 kW roof mounted solar electric PV array, solar hot water system, a high-efficiency mini-split A/C system and radiant heat from a biofuel boiler (powered by PA grown & manufactured soybean oil), which provides optimal comfort and low energy costs – 80% less energy use than conventional new construction is guaranteed by the builder.”

This tour includes lunch and is scheduled for Saturday, March 8. If you pre-register through the Delaware Valley Green Building Council (before 3/3), you’ll receive a discount on admission.
