To Catch a Rain Drop

rainbarrel.jpgWhen we’re fortunate enough to get some rain, why not try to capture some of it for gardening, landscaping, or washing your car?  Even in areas where rain is not a scarcity, rain barrels are a good idea since you reduce demand on your well or the public water system and can save on your water bills.  Besides, plants prefer the perfect Ph of rain water.

Rain barrels are placed at the roof downspouts to collect the precious commodity and a garden hose is hooked up to a spigot at the bottom.  They’re available in several colors, sizes and some are even made from recycled oak, plastic, steel.  RainBarrelsAndMore and CleanAirGardening are two of many sites to purchase them at.
